I think I've probably mentioned before how I went to a talk in which the priest told the story of Edith Stein's conversion. In short, she read St. Teresa's autobiography in one evening and knew she had found the Truth. This was somewhat disheartening, as I had just spent 6 months reading that book. Granted, I was deliberately reading it slowly--a short time each morning--but I would never have been able to read it in one evening, and if I had read it in a week, I wouldn't have comprehended it well enough to get any benefit.
