A few things

This looks good: what a great bunch of guitar players...though I'm not so sure about the material.
This is sad; no one who's seen The Wire can forget Snoop.
This is good to know, if you're a Chrome user (which I am).
This is funny, and probably won't be seen by the people who could most benefit from it.
AND: this explains why Ash Wednesday is better than Christmas. (Hat tip to Craig)
That is sad about "Snoop"; in those roles one always hopes that the actress is only playing the part.
I am interested in the Buddy Miller record too. I had hoped it would appear on eMusic, but it seems not.

Presumably she's considerably less of a criminal than the casual killer she played in the series.
Sometimes things show up on eMusic well after their release dates--label policy, to try to maximize cd or more expensive download sales. I see it's on New West, which I think is still on eMusic. I know they were at one time.

According to the news article on "Snoop", she was convicted of second-degree murder at age 14 (which would have been in or around 1994). Awful.
I'll probably wait on the Buddy Miller record for a while. I like the fact that it's full of covers, but I sort of wish that Buddy was singing on more of the songs. (Mind you, Emmylou Harris is not a bad substitute.)
I really liked the xkcd cartoon this time, by the way. The first panel, especially, made me laugh.

I saw that and was surprised, because I didn't think you could get convicted for murder at that age. More information here. Depending on how accurate this is, it sounds like the impression one might get from the drug arrest, that she's back on the streets again, is false or at least incomplete. Here is what David Simon has to say. I think "war on the underclass" is a rather excessive rhetorical flourish, but I'm basically in agreement with him about the "war on drugs." What a mess... If this is nothing more than a pot bust,
