This world is highly lacking in empathy and overflowing with judgemental, apathetic douchebags.
It's clear from the context that no irony was intended. Yes, I laughed out loud.

The discussion or rather argument was about the pandemic--hawks and doves, you might say, hawks wanting to intensify all the lockdown etc measures and doves arguing that those aren't justified.
I must say it does seem to have brought out the bureaucratic control freak in some people who are in a position to do something about it. California has reportedly issued very detailed rules for Thanksgiving--how many people can be present (six I think), etc.

I have toyed with the idea of having a t-shirt or bumper sticker made which says "Execute the intolerant!"

It goes back to Shelley: "Tolerate everything except intolerance." And the line attributed to Tom Lehrer, which I guess would have been back in the '60s at least, something like "There are people who don't love their fellow man, and I hate people like that."

While we are being ironic, and in case you haven't heard Chuck Schumer on Amy Barrett Coney: "Generations yet unborn will suffer the consequences of this nomination. "

Hysterical! And yes I caught Chuck's irony in the midst of his hyperbole. Oxymorons are educated beyond their intelligence.
